Who else loves a good falafel ? But sometimes they can be comprised of an unnecessary and excessive amount of sodium and fat so I have come up with a quick and easy healthy Hemp falafel recipe that literally just requires 5 ingredients.

  •  1 can of chickpeas (drained and washed) (250g)
  •  1/3 cup Royal Hemp hemp seeds
  •  1 medium sized zucchini
  •  1 medium sized carrot
  •  approximately 1 teaspoon of salt
  •  approximately 1 teaspoon of garlic powder

  1. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius
  2. After draining the chickpeas, pour the chickpeas into a food processor
  3. Chop up the zucchini and carrot into bite sized pieces and place it into the food processor
  4. Add the salt and garlic powder into the food processor

5. Blend all the ingredients together until all the zucchini, carrot and chickpeas have all been broken down into small pieces and combined together (approximately for 20 seconds depending on power of your food processor)

6. Put all blended ingredients back into the bowl; add Hemp seeds and mix everything well

7. Roll the mix into small balls (about the size of 1/3 of your palm as shown in the photo) and place on a non stick baking tray / lay baking paper onto a tray and place the balls on top

8. Bake the falafels for approximately 20 minutes

Serve and enjoy!
